Description for part number 341-2437

A Crankshaft Damper is a pulley-like device attached to the front of the crankshaft that absorbs torsional vibrations caused by engine combustion and power impulses. The outer ring is connected to the crankshaft. It serves as the mounting point for the damper assembly and helps transmit torque from the engine to the accessory drive components. The elastomer ring, often made of rubber or a rubber-like material, is sandwiched between the outer ring and an inner hub. The elastomer material is chosen for its ability to absorb and dampen vibrations.

Applications:
A Crankshaft Damper is used to absorb and dampen torsional vibrations that occur in the crankshaft during engine operation.
